Air Barrel

While the Barrel may look like a foam octagon or barrel, it is filled with air and is extremely BOUNCY, helping with drills that cannot be done with traditional dense foam shapes.  Athletes will appreciate landing on the gentle bouncy surface when doing back handspring, back tuck, and front handspring drills, obstacle courses and more!  The Barrel is also easy to deflate and put into storage when not in use and ships for a lot less than a traditional octagon, making it perfect for mobile practices.

The product is also great for working with children with special needs. The size of the barrel is great for smaller clientele working to climb through heights, but need a firm, soft surface to feel stable when exploring space. When straddling the barrel the hips are externally rotated and the pelvis is stabilized in an optimal position to encourage efficient lateral flexion and rotation of the trunk. Sitting on the barrel provides a small amount of proprioception and requires children to maintain their balance. This keeps their arousal up and therefore helps them to maintain engagement in the activity.
